Advanced Situational Awareness is the creation of a mindset through integration of enhanced observation, profiling and tracking skills in order to produce a more ethically minded and tactically cunning person, better prepared to succeed in day-to-day life. Students who receive ASA training proactively assess the environment in order to gain a tactical advantage over possible attackers. As persistent collectors, they systematically observe and profile the environment, collecting more relevant information from the human, social, and physical terrains and make proactive decisions in the interest of safety and preservation of life.
The course curriculum focuses on teaching students to integrate the domains of human behavior into training and Defensive Combat Situations, and to demonstrate how they can be applied to enhance their ability to achieve overmatch in a universal and rapidly evolving environment. All students will leave the course with observable competence in the core competencies of ASA and be able to utilize ASA to promote left-of-bang thinking and planning.
The student goals are:
• Integrate ASA principles and Human Behavior Pattern Recognition and Analysis problem-solving into daily activities.
• Mitigate insider threats.
• Apply Human Behavior Pattern Recognition and Analysis to general fitness and resilience.
• Sustain ASA Basic Knowledge, Abilities and Attitudes training.
ASA equips Students with critical thinking, problem-solving, and analysis in order to be aware of human behavior and their surrounding environment. ASA trains them to employ this knowledge with enhanced observation techniques – equipping the individual and unit to be "left-of-bang".
